In 2006, Brenda and Steve Merrefield purchased the Inn. They have four grown children and five grandchildren. The kids live in Georgia and Florida. Brenda is a native Georgian and Steve grew up in Florida. They have been back in the South after 18 years in Colorado.
Brenda and Steve are pleased to have retained long-time Inn Manager, Michelle Briggs and the Executive Chef, Mike Atkinson as well as the balance of the staff.
Brenda oversees the day-to-day operation and can be found at the Inn very frequently. She has been a professional human resources director for a number of years. She also was a state employee in Georgia which included a position in the governor’s office. Brenda also worked with an investment firm and as an executive assistant in a large residential theater.
Steve has been a government services employee or has worked for firms that serve government his entire career. He has worked in Florida, Georgia and Texas as a public employee and on a nationwide basis for several government. |
